I was headed to what I thought was one of my favorite family owned local Mexican restaurants one day. I think I was going to get Chicken taquitos, rice and beans. As I approached the doorway I saw a large pile of vomit, It looked pretty fresh and I would have had to step over to go inside. Some customers were exiting so I pointed the stuff out to keep them from stepping in it, they responded with the appropriate, "Oh gross, and Oh no", then proceeded on. I stood there another beat trying to decided what to do. I have this aversion to eating at establishments with vomit right outside the door, but I thought it would be decent to let the staff know what was up,so I went inside. At the register stood a
I blurted out, "There's a pile of vomit right outside the door and I wasn't sure if you all knew but I'm sure that's not a good look for your restaurant so you might want to get someone out there right away to clean it up before someone steps in it or it turns customers way". In response to my statement, the young girl, still chomping on her gum, gave me a long even blanker look, then finally said, "Oh yeah I'll let someone know", while making no move to do just that. Then she waited another beat and said, "Can I take your order?". To which I replied, "I don't eat from places that have a pile of vomit outside the door, I just wanted to make you all aware of that situation". Her response? She said, "Oh okay" and dismissed me by picking up her cell phone scrolling through her texts.
